Salads can be boring and tasteless or amazing and delicious. It can be hard to find the right combination of leafy greens, nuts, beans, and dressing to make the perfect salad for you. Sometimes what seems to be a masterpiece combination can (literally) wilt when put to the test. But fear not! Leaf it to us to introduce a lovely and light salad combo that will be sure to impress your taste buds and give your body the nutrition it needs.

A Simple and Tasty Salad Dressing

IMG_3680

  • 3 tablespoons low-fat greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper

For amazing and delicious salads, you will need a bed of greens, nuts, fresh or dried fruit, and vinaigrette dressing. Nuts and fruit not only provide additional nutrition, but also bring a strong and diverse texture to your greens.

For this particular salad, I chose to use mixed greens, walnuts, sunflower seeds, apples, and cranberries with yogurt honey dressing. For the dressing you will need put the low-fat greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, honey, and cinnamon into a bowl and whisk everything together to taste. Season with salt and pepper and then you’re done! It’s simple, easy and, most importantly, delicious.
